2. What data we collect

When you use Outlyr, we collect:

  • Account information: Name, email address, and profile picture provided via Google Sign-In.
  • Usage data: Channel groups you create, channels you track, and your interaction with the platform (e.g., idea generation usage).
  • YouTube data: Publicly available YouTube channel and video metadata (titles, view counts, subscriber counts, publish dates).
  • Payment data: Processed by our payment provider (Whop), who acts as Merchant of Record. We do not store credit card details.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, and device information for security and analytics purposes.

3. Why we collect data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and maintain the Outlyr service
  • Authenticate your account
  • Track subscription usage and enforce plan limits
  • Improve our product and fix bugs
  • Send transactional emails (account-related only, no marketing)

4. Legal basis

We process personal data in accordance with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) and, where applicable to users in the European Union, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We rely on the following grounds:

  • Contract performance: To deliver the service you subscribed to.
  • Legitimate interest: To improve our product and ensure security.
  • Consent: For optional features like AI idea generation.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google services: Sign-in and access to publicly available YouTube metadata. Your use of Outlyr is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • AI providers: For AI-powered idea generation. Video titles may be sent to third-party AI services for processing.
  • Whop: For payment processing and billing. Whop is Merchant of Record and handles all invoicing and tax obligations.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained for analytics.

7. Your rights

Under the UAE PDPL — and, where applicable, the GDPR — you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data (data portability)
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time

8. Cookies

Outlyr uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

We protect your data using encryption (HTTPS, AES-256 for sensitive data at rest), secure authentication (JWT), and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
